DIANE PAULA "The Making" (History of my name)

It was the dawn of December 27,1993 when  a perky, cunning, little girl was born, having her in the arms of her mother surrounded by smiles and laughter with an overwhelming love from her family. Everyone was so excited to know how would they be calling the baby. Then the woman said I want her to be called "DIANE PAULA", and yes it was me.

The name DIANE derived from an old Indo-European root meaning "heavenly divine" reaated to Zeus. The origin of the name Diane came from Diana who is the goddess of the moon, hunting, forests and childbirth. The name PAULA derived from the name of the 4th century Roman saint who was the companion of Saint Jero "Paulus".


Anyway let's go back to the story, my parents already knew what name should they give to me before I was born and my mom said that she got Diane from the gorgeous and famous princess Diana of Wales and decided to change the last letter "a" to "e" for a single word pronunciation. My dad is the one who suggested the name Paula, he said that he got it from an English film that he would be watching supposedly the day I was born and he decided to copy the name of the lead role actress. Then both of them agreed and said that DIANE PAULA is a great and unique combination.


I am very grateful that they gave me a wonderful name with no doubts and questions.

NO FEAR: I've conquered my Pteronophobia

Do you also fear something? How did you know that you are afraid of it? Why do people develop this fear into phobia? I personally know the feeling but, I really don't know where did I get it. Since I was a child I already had a fear of feathers and as I grew old I became curious about this fear and found out that my fear is called Pteronophobia.

When I was still a child and conscious enough to remember things happening around me, I remembered having goose bumps all over my body whenever any kind of bird's feather is near me. I feel my need to shout and scream like somebody's trying to massacre me. I wanted to cry but to realize that it was just a thing, a non moving object, and me, a human, moving and has strength, Its kind'a awkward.Yes, my parents also know about this, but they just let things happen. They thought that it would just be a part of my childhood fears; dragons, monsters, ghosts, ugly creatures. But they're completely wrong. I brought with me this fear until I grew as a teen. Unfortunately, I was still afraid of it.

My friends when I was in high school, who knows me a lot including my phobia, kept it as a secret to protect me from pranks of our classmates. One day the most hard headed among us and me had a misunderstanding and sadly, she used a feather to scare me and I had nothing to do but to cry, I am always the youngest in our class because I started schooling at 3 years old. After that I realized that she's not my true friend, because a friend will not use your weakness against you.

When i reached college, I know and I feel that I still have that fear with me. Last month we had celebrated culturals and I was one of the participants for the dance competition. When we are on the 2nd week of training, our choreographer showed a sketch of what we will wear for costume. I was shocked to see that we will be acting as birds!! Yes, birds and it means we have feathers from head to toe. I cannot back out and leave the dance group because I will be reported then to the office. From that day I conditioned my self and mind that i will be wearing such thing. 

The competition day comes...., I had no choice but to hold the props and wear my costume. I was surprised that I did it. I conquered my fear. I was able to perform well and be comfortable to all the steps that I will do. Actually it was a memorable performance because it was my 3rd year in the institution and that was the first time I joined the dance group to represent the college and it helped me to conquer my fear. Now, I am not just sure if I am still scared to birds and chicken. I don't want to test my courage right now, It just depends if its necessary :D

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the dawn treader (Adventure,Fantasy,Family)

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER WRITTEN BY C.S LEWIS AND DIRECTED BY MICHAEL APTED. This is an adventure film that only Edmund and Lucy were able to enter and called by Narnia. Their brother Peter is taking a University entrance exam whilst Susan is traveling with their parents.Edmund and Lucy were staying with their fractious cousin Eustace. They were brought to Narnia using a painting of a sea and a ship which is the Dawn treader they ended up floating at the sea and were taken aboard by Prince Caspian and the rest. After gaining the throne of Prince caspian through the help of Peter,Susan,Edmund and Lucy peace remained at Narnia and now Prince Caspian is aboard to sear for the 7 lost Lords of Narnia. They first landed at an Island were there are slave traders Caspian, Edmund and Lucy were captured by these men because of their cousin Eustace.

Then they were rescued by the rest of the troop and gave back the lost freedom of the land and he found there Lord Bern who was imprisoned by the bad guys and gave the sword to them. Then at the next Island  they met the magician and the dwarfs that has one leg and a big foot and they also met the magician who told them about the evil Island. Lucy found a book of Incantations and was tempted to tear the spell that will make her look like Susan whenever she will face a mirror.

The next Island they've visit has treasure inside and their cousin Eustace was tempted to get some and because of his greediness he became a dragon and he realized how awful he was and used his strength and skills as a dragon to help them find the missing Lords and swords. Then they finally arrived to their target Island to get the last sword their looking for and put it to the table of Aslan, the Island where dreams do come tue called the Dark Island.

They found another Lord here and seems that he's out of his mind and hysterically looking for an enemy they helped him aboard to save him. In the Dark Island their greatest enemy is their selves specifically their imaginations and Edmund accidentally think of a sea serpent attacking them and it appeared then Eustace as a dragon came to rescue them he breathe fire into the head of the serpent and the two enormous creatures fought but the Lord they rescued throw the sword he's holding and Eustace was hit near his wings and he fled and stopped at the Island were the table of Aslan can be found Aslan removed the curse given to Eustace and became a boy again he quickly put the remaining sword to the table and it lighted as well as the sword that Edmund is holding. Then they defeated the serpent and continue their voyage to meet Aslan.

Then they sailed using a long boat through the sea of lilies and settle into an Island where they met Aslan and said that Edmund and Lucy will never get back to Narnia again and that they should know Aslan into another name in their world and Reepicheep the mouse said that his greatest dream is to see the country of Aslan, but Aslan said that once you go there, there's no return and you'll never ever be seen at Narnia again and Reepicheep accepted it and sail to the country of Aslan. then Aslan send the 3 kids into their home.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Adventure,Fantasy,Family)

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN IS WRITTEN BY C.S LEWIS AND DIRECTED BY ANDREW ADAMSON.

The adventure of Peter,Susan,Edmund and Lucy Pevensie carry on as they were once called and brought to the place where they became Kings and Queens and it has been a year in the human world but in Narnia it has been hundred of years passed. They've discovered the vaults where their weapons are stored and kept.Then they saw a dwarf that has been captured by the soldiers and rescued him and the dwarf told the children that after  disappearance a troop of soldiers invaded Narnia and the inhabitants was forved to live underground. Because of the evil uncle of Prince Caspian he was forced to leave the castle and help the Narnian's and the missing horn of Queen Susan was given to him by his professor.

Prince Caspian found the place of the Narnian's and they've accepted him as their new King.Then Caspian met Susan,Lucy,Peter and Edmund and discussed how to bring back the lost freedom of the creatures.At their first attempt to attack the castle their troop failed and a lot of Narnian's was trapped and killed inside the castle as the gate closed.All of them felt disappointed.

Then the battalion of soldiers (Telmarines) plans to attack back and to the number of soldiers that the castle have Narnian's would probably loose hope that's why Peter challenged their King for a battle that who ever lose will surrender and fortunately Peter won. But it turned out that Peter's team murdered their King but one of his troop members  hit him using an arrow on the chest that's why the unreasonable battle began.

While the 3 elders are fighting for a battle they sent Lucy the youngest to the forest to find Aslan and seek some help and when the Telmarines reached the river they saw Aslan and Lucy there and was engulfed by the great river with the help of Poseidon. The telmarine was forced to surrender and the Pevensie was sent back to their real world.

Bridge to Terabithia (Adventure, Fantasy, Family)

BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA IS WRITTEN BY KATHERINE PATERSON AND DIRECTED BY GABOR CSUPO. This is a story about a Jess an artist and a boy who loves to join track and field mini tournament. Everyday he rides the school bus with his little sister named Maybelle, Jess is not an active student in school and doesn't participate at anything at all.Then a cool girl enrolled at their school named Leslie and just only a few miles away on their home, she changed everything when she met Jess and they actually became friends after Leslie defeated him into that mini tournament. Then after class they run and discovered a fantasy place which they called Terabithia it is a reflection of their lives that they see through their eyes. Everyday after school this became their habit spending their spare time there and knowing each other.

They found an abandoned tree house at Terabithia and they rebuilt it to make it as their own tree house they knew that they own Terabithia and they are the king and queen of that amazing place.They met and encountered different creatures there some are harmful and they've defended themselves from these. They saw enormous footprints that is actually from a huge old tree inside the forests that is also become their friend because of their dog.

One day Jess's music teacher asked him to go out with her at the museum and because Jess had a crush on her he chose not to invite Leslie and when they reached home he ended up seeing his mother crying because they thought that he's dead like Leslie, at first Jess can't believe that Leslie left him and he always blame himself that it is his fault, Leslie wouldn't have died if he didn't became selfish. Then when days passed he realized things and ponder in his mind the lessons that he learned from Leslie and he built a bridge to Terabithia so that if anyone tries to go there they can safely go back and what happened to Leslie will not repeat itself anymore.

Mostly Ghostly: Who let the ghosts out? (horror-fantasy)

MOSTLY GHOSTLY IS WRITTEN BY R.L STINE AND DIRECTED BY RICHARD CORREL.This is a horror-fantasy film about a little boy named Max who loves to perform magic tricks he has a brother older than him, one day while he's doing a laundry and the lights suddenly turned off, Max heard sounds at the wall and he tried to move closer to clearly hear the sounds and suddenly he saw a hand come out of the wall and he screams and run away. Max can see and feel unusual things that other persons can't.  Later on he met the ghosts of Nikki and Tara who happened the previous dwellers of their home these children didn't know that their ghosts and still confused how and why they died, they are looking for their parents who happened to be captured by an evil ghosts named Phears.

The next day Max saw Phears and he was looking for the ghosts of Nikki and Tara, Max lied and he didn't mention anything that he knows. Nikki and Tara pleased max to help them find their parents and the tunnel because only the living can enter inside. A girl named Traci who happened to be the crush of Max was amazed when she heard the news that Max can do magic tricks (this is through the help of Nikki and Tara) and applied as the assistant of Max on his magic show at the school's Halloween party.Phears will also be released and all of his ghosts companion on halloween at his full power and they are planning to inhabit the human world. The next day while Max and Traci is on their way to their magic rehearsal Tara was kidnapped by Phears and Max is the only one who sees them he run and tried to catch them but he didn't able to do so.

Then Max told Nikki what happened then Nikki decided to force Max to enter the tunnel because he knows that it s the only place that Phears can hide Tara . Just like normal persons who can't see ghosts. Ghosts can't also see humans inside the tunnel that's why Max had the chance to talk to Tara and warned him just not to disturb them and don't ever make some noise, Tara gave a box that his dad owns and said that Max should find and wear the ring on the day of their performance and advised that they should pursue the show and assure that Nikki is there and then Max agreed.

Then the Halloween day came and everyone's ready for Max's magical show. He started his tricks and everything's goin' smoothly and suddenly Phears comes out and all of his ghosts companions and distracted the persons watching, the audience thought that it was just a part of Max's show then Tara said that Max should utter the lines on the ring to drive away the evil ghosts and with the help of the audience they were able to push away the ghosts and said that Max made that day the best Halloween ever.

THE GOLDEN COMPASS (fantasy -adventure)

THE GOLDEN COMPASS IS WRITTEN BY PHILIP PULLMAN AND DIRECTED BY CHRIS WEITZ. This film is similar to the concept of Harry Potter and Narnia they used themes such as dark materials, atheist or anti - Catholic. This film is about a world where a person's soul live outside their body in a form of an animal which they called Demon.Lyra an orphan of Jordan College and her demon Pan and the rest of her friends believes that the missing children are caused by the gobblers.When they have their dinner Layra meets Ms.Coulter and wants her to be Ms. Coluter's assistant and take her everywhere she goes. Before Lyra leaves the master of the college gave to her the remaining alethiometer (the golden compass). This device tells the truth and the master told her that all of the other compass are destroyed.

When Lyra arrived to the house of Ms. Coulter, she told Lyra to put off her shoulder bag, but Lyra refused to follow her because she should keep with her always the golden compass and no one should know about it. Lyra secured the golden compass under her pillow and chose to investigate at the secret room of Ms. Coulter and find out that she's the head of the gobblers who kidnap children. Because of this Lyra wanted to escape with her demon and the gobblers ran after her and she was saves by the Gyptians, this group are alson hunting for gobblers who took Lyra's best friend and also a Gyptian named Billy.

At the port Lyra met a cowboy and advised her to hire an armored bear for their mission. They found in the port a giant polar bear named lorek and said that he cannot go to a battle without his armor and using the compass Lyra tell Lorek where he could find it and Lorek said that he would serve Lyra as her demon.

After Lyra saved Billy she discovered the place where the gobblers put the captured children then Lyra and her demon caught spying in their experiments and the scientist put them into a cage that will separate them that caused pain in both of them, then Ms. Coulter rescued her and brought Lyra to her quarters, when Lyra is awake Ms. Coulter is asking for the compass and Lyra gave a can containing the spy fly which knocks Ms. Coulter and her demon down.

Then Lyra escaped with her demon while the Gyptians and the flying witched rescued the children and fought the gobblers. After this Lyra chose to go with her cowboy friend to give the compass to her father.
